Paul began a detailed review of several companies and a multitude of marketing programs. He consistently found deficiencies and inherent weaknesses in these programs and compensation plans. As a result of his research, specific features were identified as key elements of a successful network marketing program. He identified a successful program as being Representative rewarding and Representative friendly. He next began exploring ways to add value to the businesses that were built by the Representatives. His goal was to develop a compensation plan with the Representative in mind. One that would reward the Representative's hard work in the field with the best compensation plan in the history of the industry. When Terry and Sandi Walker decided to join FHTM in 2004, they never looked back. “We were tired of working all the time, with no time for family,” says Terry. I was an insurance agent, then a high school math teacher. But when my kids were little, I wanted to stay home with them. Of course, it took both my husband's and my paychecks to pay the bills, so I had to find a way to replace my teaching salary. I discovered direct sales. I knew I didn't want to be in sales, but it was the only thing I could find that would replace my teaching salary and let me stay home with my kids. I thought "I'll hate every minute of it, but if it lets me stay home with my kids, I'll just grit my teeth and do it anyway, and the minute my youngest is in kindergarten, I'll go back to teaching."
